The Power of Prayer
WRITTEN BY the prayer team
As volunteers on the prayer team, we have the privilege of witnessing something extraordinary every week: the tangible impact of prayer on the life of our church. Prayer isn’t just an activity—it’s the lifeline that connects us to God and to each other, shaping every corner of our ministry.
During Sunday meetings, especially in response time, we see firsthand how prayer transforms hearts. Whether it’s someone receiving guidance, experiencing breakthrough, or encountering God’s peace in the midst of struggle, those moments are powerful reminders that our prayers matter. It’s a sacred time where the Spirit moves, and our role as prayer ministers is to facilitate that connection.
Beyond Sunday, prayer permeates all areas of church life. In Healing Rooms, we witness miraculous encounters where God brings restoration and hope. Our 21 Days Evening Prayer gatherings have become a rhythm that anchors our church, fostering unity, intercession, and spiritual growth. These extended seasons of prayer create a momentum that carries into every ministry, outreach, and fellowship.
Cultivating a culture of prayer is vital. When prayer becomes part of who we are, rather than just what we do, it shapes our church’s DNA. It informs our decisions, strengthens our ministries, and aligns us with God’s vision. For us on the prayer team, it’s both a responsibility and a joy to nurture this culture, encouraging every member to engage with God daily and corporately.
Prayer is the heartbeat of our church. It sustains, strengthens, and transforms. And as volunteers, we are honored to stand in the gap, knowing that each prayer lifted is a seed sown for God’s kingdom to flourish. Let’s continue to embrace prayer—not as a task, but as the lifeline that keeps our church vibrant, unified, and full of God’s presence.

Healing Stories
WRITTEN BY Beki Froud
‘We’re believing you for miracles, healing power breaking through!’
‘Make way! The King is coming!’ This song has been our continued prayer over the last season and we’re continuing to see God move in healing. Across the life of the church and especially in the Healing Rooms we’re having more and more opportunities to pray for the sick and pour out the love of Jesus as we stand alongside people in faith. Almost all words of knowledge shared on Sundays have been responded to and we’re continuing to celebrate every bit of healing that we see Jesus do!
During our 21 days of prayer we had a whole night devoted to praying for healing. We spent time hearing about an encounter in the bible from Luke 7:11-17, where Jesus had compassion on a widow who had lost her only son and he responded by touching the coffin, commanding the young man to arise and raised him from the dead! We heard stories of people who have been healed recently, we sought God for words of knowledge for people in the room and we responded by praying for each other. It was a powerful time where one lady felt warmth on her lower back as we prayed for pain to go and a young girl (and her mum) have since reported that after prayer she was healed of an egg allergy - thank you Jesus!
Here are a few other stories from the last few weeks:
- Someone who responded to a word of knowledge about feet, was prayed for in Healing Rooms and a corn that she’d had for over 10 years completely disappeared.- One lady prayed for dizziness to go and it went that same night just in time for an inspection week at her school.
- We prayed for a lady who had pain in her shoulder which wouldn’t get better. Immediately the pain decreased and she was able to move it around.
- A 19 month old with poor muscle tone hadn’t been able to weight-bear or take steps. He was prayed for in a Sunday meeting and a few days later he took 4 steps and is now weight bearing whilst walking around furniture.
Let’s praise God for all he is doing in our midst and let’s be praying for people wherever we go. There are 1 million people across the Solent area who we can share his love with, by having compassion and time for them as we go about our daily lives. Let’s show them the love and power of God. Let’s be signposts to Jesus!
