King’s Community Church is funded, almost exclusively, through the generosity of its members. We believe that the Bible teaches that our giving, as followers of Jesus, starts with the local church, the place where we belong, are cared for and are fed by God’s word.
The Bible teaches that our giving should be –
Planned, proportionate & regular (see 1 Corinthians 16:2). We sometimes call this regular giving our “tithe” because, in the Old Testament, God’s people Israel gave a tenth of their produce, their first fruits, to the Lord.
Our giving is, first & foremost to Jesus. The first example of the tithe in the Bible is Abraham’s giving to Melchizedek in Genesis 14. Melchizedek as a priest-king is a picture of Jesus (see Hebrews 7).
Joy-filled – the New Testament is especially focused on our attitudes as we give. The Apostle Paul especially encourages cheerfulness & generosity in his churches (2 Corinthians 9:7-11).

We as a church have been on a journey, when we heard God say that this will be a year of harvest, to raise £1 Million to Reach a Million People.
