WHAT WE'VE BEEN UPTO

Get ready for an exciting term in Primary Kids! We’ve got a whole host of brilliant Bible stories, big questions, fun challenges and plenty of opportunities to discover more about who God is and what it means to follow Jesus.

We’re starting off with Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount, where Jesus teaches us all about what it looks like to live His way. We’ll discover what it means to let our light shine, how our words can encourage and build people up, why Jesus tells us to love even the people who are difficult to love, and why it’s important to look at our own actions before pointing out someone else’s mistakes. We’ll be thinking about how we can put Jesus’ teaching into action at home, at school and with our friends.

Then it’s time for Moses! We’ll follow his amazing story from a tiny baby floating in a basket to the incredible moment God speaks to him from a burning bush. We’ll see Moses face some pretty big challenges, learn how God used him despite his worries and doubts, and discover God’s amazing promise: “I will be with you.” We’ll journey through the plagues, Passover, the dramatic crossing of the Red Sea and life in the wilderness — with plenty to discover along the way!

As Christmas gets closer, we’ll turn our attention to Jesus: The Way, The Truth and The Life. We’ll explore what Jesus meant when He said He is the way to God, discover why we can trust what He says is true, and hear the amazing story of Jesus raising Lazarus and the hope we have because of Him.

And it wouldn’t be Primary Kids without games, challenges, activities, worship, laughter and lots of fun! Each week, we’ll be getting stuck into God’s Word, asking questions, having a go and discovering how we can live out our faith in everyday life.

There’s lots to look forward to, and we can’t wait to see what we’ll discover together! 🎉
A gentle reminder to pick up your Dinner’s Questions each week! You’ll find them on the pinboard outside Cedar Hall (or you can grab a copy from the coordinator).
Dinner’s Questions are a great way to find out what we’ve been exploring together in Primary Kids and, more importantly, to keep the conversation going once you’ve left church. Each week includes a few simple questions designed to help you chat with your children about what they’ve been learning, what they think about it, and how they can put it into practice.

These questions are designed to be easy and fun to use wherever you are. Why not turn them into a family quiz on the drive home from church, chat about them around the dinner table, or see who can remember the most from the morning?

It’s a simple way to help your children see that what they learn at church isn’t just for Sunday mornings, faith is something we can talk about and live out together at home too!
Since Spring, we have introduced ‘Encounter Sundays’ in KS2 Primary Kids. They take place on the last Sunday of every month. These Sundays involve live worship and are centred around waiting on the Holy Spirit to move. We have loved these times, and many of our kids have heard from God! The next ones will take place on 27th September and 25th October.
From September 2026, Kids Access will be rebranded as Connected Kids to highlight that we want our children to be connected to Jesus, their church family and the incredible future God has planned for them. This rebranding was initiated by Cuthbert & Sarah Finch, who - we are excited to announce - will lead Connected Kids. They’ve planned several amazing changes to ensure Connected Kids have an incredible experience on Sundays, including a new room (Family Hub), tailored activities & Bible lessons, as well as quiet spaces.
