WHAT WE'VE BEEN UPTO
We’re so excited to give you a little window into what your kids have been experiencing in Primary Kids over the past few Sundays. It’s been such a meaningful season as we’ve launched into our new series: Spiritual Formation – Becoming More Like Jesus.
This series is all about helping the kids explore the different ways Jesus stayed close to God — and how they can do the same in their everyday lives. Each Sunday, we focus on a different practice Jesus modeled, like worship, prayer, serving, and even rest. These aren’t just church activities — they’re ways of life that help us become more like Him.
Here’s a snapshot of what we’ve covered so far:
🧡 Worship (Luke 10:21)
We kicked things off with joy, learning how Jesus praised God with a heart full of thanksgiving. The kids had fun dancing, singing — talking about all the things they’re grateful to God for!
📖 Scripture (Matthew 4:1–11)
We explored the story of Jesus in the wilderness, showing how He leaned on God’s Word when He was tempted. A reminder that God's Word is powerful and always with us.
🌿 Sabbath (Matthew 12:1–14)
We talked about rest — not just sleeping in or relaxing, but the kind of rest where we pause to be with God.
Coming up, we’ll be looking at Repentance & Communion, Serving, Prayer & Fasting, Community, and Generosity — all through stories from Jesus’ life, games, crafts, and plenty of opportunities to make these ideas real and age-appropriate for them.
We've been kicking off each Sunday with lots of fun and energy as we all say our memory verse for the term together! It's such a great way to start our time, and the kids are doing an amazing job. If you'd like to practice it at home or even come up with some fun actions together, we'd love to see what your child brings to share next Sunday. You can find the verse in the memory verse section below. We can't wait to see their creativity!
We’re seeing your kids ask thoughtful questions, grow in kindness, and start to connect what they hear on Sundays to the world around them. Whether it’s choosing to help a sibling, praying before bed, or singing their favorite worship song during the week — seeds are being planted and it’s such a joy to witness.
Thank you for letting us be part of your child’s journey with God. We love your kids, and we’re so thankful to walk alongside them (and you!) as they grow in faith, step by step.
